Learning guitar at home is a lot easier then it used to be. Before DVD players and inexpensive video cameras you had two choices to learn guitar.
First you could buy a guitar lesson book. How ever that wasn’t all that exciting. You could get some what of an idea what you had to learn but you never got to see any one demonstrating it. That often left beginners scratching their head needing further instruction.
The second alternative you had was a VHS tape. Remember those? A far cry from the guitar lesson dvd you could get now for a fraction the cost. At the time it was of course the only form of video recording you would find.
While the VHS tape would offer you a bit of visual instruction it usually wouldn’t cover the multiple angle, close up and on screen graphic advancements that a guitar course bought today would provide.
Fast forward ahead to today and we have a lot of great advancements in guitar lessons online and DVD. The first is the cost. To you as a student things have become far less expensive. This is primarily due to the low cost of production for the material.
Second you have a lot more choice as to what you can buy. More instructors and websites are popping up offering online and DVD instruction. This is good for the beginner because there is such a multitude of sites out there offering this stuff.
Third, the quality of the instruction you can get on your own at home is on par with that which you’d get if you were taking private guitar lessons from a real life instructor one-on-one. The multimedia material, workbooks and multiple angle video shots provide the best form of demonstration for you as a beginner.
Which program you choose has a lot to do with your preference. Some people like online videos while others prefer to use DVD videos they can watch on their television.
