Thrifted
November 21, 2009
When we preparing to move to our new home, we got rid of a lot of stuff. We wanted to retool our style at the same time and settle on something that would make both of us happy. So we started out here with one lamp, one less coffee table than we needed, and zero holiday decorations. As I scour the thrift stores for the right pieces to add to our home, everything is slowly falling into place. Here’s what I picked up this week for a total of $7.25…
And, it’s reversible!
And here’s a sneak peek of a craigslist deal I managed to snag this week…I can’t wait to show you a bigger reveal…

Love the mugs! Why’d you decide to start over with your holiday decorations? Did they just not fit the style you were after?

Ooohhh, you know how much I hate not knowing something – this is going to drive me nuts!
I love the polka dotted pillow – so stinking cute!

Thanks CF!
Cate, the few decorations we had were mostly cheap items from the Dollar Tree we had picked up in the past just to have something to put up; other items were hand-me-down decorations that we didn’t really like. So since we’re in our new home, we’re on the search for some decorations that fit our own personal style.
Brittany, it’s a piece I’ve been wanting and found for a suuper good price–I just need to clean it up a bit!

Your couch is just fabulous. And I can so relate with starting over. I loved getting rid of so many of our things only this time to carefully choose them. Thrifted of course.

Selena, it really is so freshing to start from nearly scratch.
Thanks Emily! The couch was a craigslist find.
Sara, I am constantly amazed by what I dig up at thrift stores, on craigslist, etc. No matter your style (and especially if you don’t have one you favor in particular), there are always plenty of furnishings and decorations to be had secondhand. Thanks for the compliment!
